Joe Shez: For the Love of Music

Working closely with Joe Shez, a DJ passionate about growing a love for music within the community, I developed a complete brand identity. My goal was to create a cohesive visual and verbal framework that truly captured his friendly, fun, and inclusive approach, ensuring it was both cool and approachable.

Defining the Brand's Core

The heart of this project was meticulously defining Joe Shez's unique brand assets and guidelines:

• Distinctive Logo Design: We crafted a fluid and dynamic script font logo, designed to embody movement and rhythm.

• Engaging Tone of Voice: Establishing a light, approachable, and engaging tone was key. This tone resonates throughout all brand communications, mirroring Joe Shez's personality and mission.

• Vibrant Visual Identity: We built a versatile visual system based on bold core colors, chosen for their vibrancy and neatness, while maintaining flexibility across various applications.

• Comprehensive Brand Application: Detailed guidelines were created to ensure consistent brand implementation, covering proper logo usage and visual integration across all touchpoints.

• Essential Brand Assets: I designed crucial elements like stationery, email signatures, and initial poster layouts to maintain brand consistency from daily communications to event promotion.

• Personal Brand Identifiers: A snapback hat was integrated as a key, personal, and recurring visual motif, alongside modern and unique hat-with-logo iconography.

• Strategic Imagery Use: Guidance was provided for the effective use of clean, high-quality photography, featuring Joe Shez where relevant, and employing brand colours as blend modes to enhance visual congruence.

All these elements were developed to support Joe Shez's brand statement: "To entertain, educate, and foster a love for music. Delivering a positive, inclusive way for people to grow their love for music while growing an audience for the Joe Shez brand and all its followers. A reputation for working in the community and supporting others' development in an approachable, dutiful way."
